Phaplu to Gokyo & Everest

The Phaplu is small airstrip in Solukhumbu; we start many treks from Phaplu it takes 35 minute by plane. When you get down from plane, you can see excellent view of Numbur/Khatang/Kerolung a group.
Away to the north of Phaplu, number Himal is known Sherpa as they call Shorung YuLha it means, (Shorung means, Solu and Yu Lha means God. (‘God of the Solu’) tower over the large green valley.
The trail follows Phaplu through a pine tree and rhododendron forest alive with birds. The Solukhumbu is especially place for Sherpa village. Whose warm hospitality and skills and mountain guides have made them world famous. Local monasteries are centers of Buddhists Lama culture and religious festivals are colorful and numerous.
After one day walk from Phaplu we can join trailheads of Mt Everest and Gokyo. This is useful for treks in the southern part of the region or for Everest trekking who want to gain extra acclimatization day.
The main ethic group that visitors will encounter in the Everest region is Sherpa. This is their heartland and their influence is to be seen everywhere from traditional dress to their distinctive house and village monasteries
